About the people behind the pages
This blog tells part of the story of a Christian community that exists in the South Bay Area in California. We’re exploring what it means to be a community of people, centered on Jesus, who listen to each other and to God. We are allowing ourselves to be formed, rather than setting our own course. We are choosing to trust that a community can grow by the same kind of miracle that causes flowers to appear where there was only dirt and dry seeds before … “The kingdom of God is like one who casts seed upon the soil; and goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows–how, that one does not know. The soil produces crops by itself …”. (Gospel of Mark, 4)
The title of the blog – Breathing Exercises – is meant to suggest the small contribution a parent makes to the astounding miracle that is the beginning of a new life. There is not much more to do but learn to breath, because it’s coming.
We currently meet on Sunday nights, starting with a shared meal at 4.30 pm for people who like food. Around 5.30, we wash up and roll our sleeves up for conversation, and we are done by 7.30 pm. All are free to bring something to share: current questions or other relevant words, scripture, questions, or music, recorded or otherwise.
